Fallingwater is a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece located in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. Felix de la Concha spent months documenting the inside and outside of the home through painting. This set of seven paintings feature the outside of Fallingwater from different prespectives.
The project was completed between 2006 and 2007. The Convention Center acquired the paintings in 2013 with a grant from the Colcom Foundation.
Felix de la Concha (b. 1962) was born in Spain and studied art in Madrid. de la Concha spent several years living and working in Pittsburgh. During that time, he completed 365 Days of the Cathedral of Learning, on view at the University of Pittsburgh, and The Last Supper, which depicts his street in Friendship and is part of the Convention Center’s permanent collection. He now lives and works in Iowa.
