Thirteen diptychs featuring street signage, traffic lights, and a single tree in the center. de la Concha references the Leonardo da Vinci painting of The Last Supper through the use of thirteen figures. The artist used the street outside of his then home in Friendship, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, as inspiration.
Felix de la Concha (b. 1962) was born in Spain and studied art in Madrid. de la Concha spent several years living and working in Pittsburgh. During that time, he completed 365 Days of the Cathedral of Learning, on view at the University of Pittsburgh, and At the Foot of the Falls, which is also part of the Convention Center’s permanent collection. He now lives and works in Iowa.
